About a guy who has a girlfriend already...and is seeing someone else on the sly. Rachel Brown is incredible on vocals, her voice is stellar. That is our Guest Lead Guitarist: John Cat, he really puts emotion and all of himself into the chords. Newell plays all other instruments, does the Background Vocals, and composed the music for Went Down to Motown (Detroit.) Nuala wrote the lyrics after getting her heart stomped on a few times. She grew up outside of Detroit and was raised on Motown.
lyrics
Went Down to Motown (Detroit)
Ahhhhhhhhh Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Went down to Motown looking all around
Searching high and low he’s nowhere to be found
Went down to Motown where we both first met
Down by the river, how could he forget?
Went down to Motown, Woodward Avenue
I thought he’d be there, if I only knew
Went down to Motown looking all around
Searching high and low he’s nowhere to be found
He’s seldom serious –I don’t know what to do
‘Cause if he’s got one girl, he wants two
Went down to Motown
Went down to Motown
Went down to Motown, didn’t see him there
He’s with her again, it’s some big love affair
Went down to Motown, we were gonna meet
This is such a blow, he is such a cheat
Went down to Motown, saw him there with her
I think it was him, but I can’t be sure
Went down to Motown looking all around
Searching high and low she’s nowhere to be found
So seldom serious –I don’t know what to do
‘Cause if he’s got one girl, he wants two
Went down to Motown, got nothing to lose
Time to forget him, shake off all the blues
Went down to Motown, looking all around
Searching high and low, he’s nowhere to be found
He’s seldom serious –I don’t know what to do
‘Cause if he’s got one girl, he wants two (two)
Ahhhhhhhhhh Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh laaaaaaaaaaaa
Went down to Motown, meet up with some friends
I am done with him, he let our love end
Went down to Motown looking all around
Searching high and low he’s nowhere to be found
Went down to Motown dahhhhhhhhhh
Went down to Motown dadahhhhhhhhhh
Went down to Motown dadahhhdahhhhhhh
Went down to Motown dadadadadadadera
